Ink Contemporary Theatre Presents
Between The Bars
25 — 26 June 2027
Between The Bars
Set against the vibrant backdrop of the 1960s, ‘Between the Bars’ is an electrifying new musical where the worlds of jazz and classical music collide and ultimately connect. In a time of cultural change and artistic rebellion, a group of young musicians dare to challenge tradition, pushing boundaries through bold, innovative sound.
Driven by a dynamic score and infused with high energy Beatnik Dance, ‘Between the Bars’ pulses with rhythm, laughter, and raw emotion. Movement and music weave seamlessly together, telling a powerful story of conflict and connection, of falling apart and finding a way back.
At the heart of the story are intertwined lives shaped by passion, rivalry and love. As friendships are tested and love triangles unfold, tensions rise between those who cling to structure and those who crave freedom. Through smoky jazz clubs and refined concert halls, music becomes both battleground and bridge.
This is a show about breaking rules, building bridges, and discovering that harmony can be found in the most unexpected places.
An exciting and visually stunning production, bringing together, newly composed music and songs, stunning choreography and a nostalgic feel of the 1960’s music scene, helping to tell this powerful, emotional story. Not to be missed.
