Amanda Owen is a shepherdess, mother to nine children, a passionate photographer and Sunday Times bestselling author. Amanda and her husband Clive live a life that has almost gone in today’s modern world; one ruled by the seasons and their animals. Home is Ravenseat, a 2000 acre hill farm at the head of Swaledale, North Yorkshire, one of the highest and most remote places in England.
In 2018 the Owen family became the stars of their very own channel 5 TV series ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’, following their appearance on ‘New Lives in the Wild’. The most recent series of ‘Our Yorkshire Farm’ became C5’s highest rating factual show of the last seven years, with further episodes to follow. Amanda has also appeared regularly on C5’s ‘This Week on the Farm’, as well as co-presenting ITV’s ‘Summer on the Farm: An Extraordinary Year’ and she recently presented her own cookery strand on ‘This Morning’, ‘The Yorkshire Shepherdess’ Family Feast’.
Amanda’s top 10 bestselling books, including ‘The Yorkshire Shepherdess’ and ‘Tales From The Farm’, offer a funny, heart-warming and inspiring account of her transformation from Huddersfield townie to rural sheep farmer. Amanda regularly posts her photography of farming family life to her loyal followers on social media and her passion for the great outdoors, as well as her insightful opinions and good humour have made her a popular public speaker.
